If you haven't been diving for over a year, don't remember a thing from your open water course, took scuba lessons before dive computers existed, or just want some practice before going on that big dive vacation or before starting another scuba course- then you need to ReActivate! Chances are a lot has changed and your knowledge and skills are rusty. Don't take chances, the PADI ReActivate program is just for you.
What you will learn
You will review important concepts via tablet or online via computer, and then spend some time in the pool or controlled open water site refreshing some basic skills and building confidence. This is a great idea any time you have been away from diving for a while and want to dive back in safely. Divers who complete both the knowledge and in-water skill refresher receive a replacement certification card with a ReActivated date on it.
There are four required skills:
1. Remove, replace and clear the mask.
2. Become neutrally buoyant and hover.
3. Perform an emergency weight drop on the surface to become positively buoyant.
4. Ascend properly using an alternate air source and establish positive buoyancy at the surface, acting as both donor and receiver.
5. Any other open water skills you would like to practice.
Another way to get back into diving or stregthen your skills is to work on your advanced scuba certification, which allows you to improve your skills while doing five fun adventure dives with me. If your certification has been a very long time or with another agency, you may opt to retake the Open Water Diver Course all over again.
Prerequisites
PADI Open Water Diver Certification or above.
Be sure to confirm that you are healthy for diving by carefully completing the Medical Statement and Questionnaire and meeting with a physician if required.
Cost is $150.00 and includes ReActivate App and online viewer, concept review, pool or confined water session, equipment use, air, and replacement certification card (if all requirements are completed).
Does not include pool or dive site fees, travel, or other costs which vary.
