First Aid, CPR, and AED training are suggested for everyone whether a diver or not. Divers should keep these skills up to date and must have these certifications when taking the rescue course. As a diver, be sure you have first aid and rescue skills. Expect all your buddies to be trained in these skills as well. Also complete Emergency Oxygen Provider certification which is required to buy and administer emergency oxygen, the primary first aid treatment for scuba related injuries.
